C307 Unit Questions and Answers

Read Below for Questions asked at the 2008 GATS Show

Questions that were asked at the show.

1. How long would the unit run on a 950 Amp/Hour Battery for an RV application?

For you to work this out= 16 amps which is the current draw of the unit x the hours of operation, say 10 hours = 160 amp hours. In short divide 950 Amp hours divide x 16 Amps and you get 59.37 hours. Keeping in mind that this is from fully charged to dead flat, however the unit would cut out well before then. I would estimate 35 hours of operation.

2. Can the unit be mounted to a box that is frame mounted to the truck? I would see no reason why not as Vibration has never been an issue so far.

3. Is there a way to provide a plug into a 120AC power source? An inverter for sure. If there is a battery in the system an inverter charger would be the go.

4. 2 Large Fleets (~1500 trucks) and 2 Major Manufacturers asked if we would be willing to do demo units for them to test? ………Absolutely Yes!!

5. Can a video be provided of a typical install? Absolutely Yes.

6. At what point does the unit shut off to protect the truck batteries? Adjustable, Factory set for a 400 AH battery bank at 11.6 volts rising still allowing plenty to start the engine. We have had reports of drivers having their air conditioners on for 10 hours or more without cycling and still starting the engine at start time.

7. What is the Life expectancy of major components? There have been no mechanical failures in the field in close to 3 years other than occasional refrigerant leaks caused by the fitters. We have a unit running in the factory that has completed in excess of 6500 hours without stopping other than for inspection.
